Sky Deutschland buys Spanish drama from ZDF

German pay TV operator Sky Deutschland has acquired Crematorio, the drama series dubbed the Spanish Sopranos, for its Sky Atlantic channel.

The scripted series is distributed by ZDF Enterprises, the commercial arm of the German public broadcaster.

Based on the book by Rafael Chirbes, the series follows a Spanish crime dynasty.

It was originally produced by Mod Producciones for Canal+ in Spain.

Previous buyers of the series include HBO Latin America. It has also sold to Turner in Scandinavia and into the United States to Spanish language-network Somos TV.
