NATPE news: MundoFox and RCN order singing format
MundoFox and RCN in Colombia have jointly commissioned a Spanish-language version of UK-originated singing format Who Dares Sings.
The show is distributed by ITV Studios General Entertainment and the deal marks the first time it has been remade for Latin or US Hispanic audiences.
The 8x60mins will debut on both channels in early 2013. MundoFox is Fox International Channels’ freshly-minted US Hispanic cable network. RCN is a free-to-air Colombian channel.
Sony-backed Teleset will make the Spanish-language version.
This news follows a deal for the format in France. A 12×60’ series titled Qui Chante Le Plus Juste? is in production by ITVStudios France for France 4 to air in 2013.
In Who Dares Sings, 100 contestants compete for the chance to win a cash prize. Using a Sound Analysis Machine (SAM), the contestants’ performances are scored according to their accuracy.
