Off the Fence inks UKTV distribution deal
Off the Fence has acquired 300 hours of content that it will sell internationally, including titles from UKTV and Fox’s regional channels.
In the UK, OTF will be representing UKTV’s factual channel, Yesterday’s catalogue of one-off documentaries including Colditz – The Legend (pictured), Titanic: The Band That Played On, Royals At War, I Was A Jet Set Stewardess and Arctic Convoys.
Jonathan Newman, head of programme distribution/strategy, UKTV said: “We are delighted to be working with Off the Fence, who we think are ideally placed to help us realise the global potential of our historical factual programming, in particular.”
OTF has also picked up an 80-hour package of shows from Indian cable channel Fox Traveller. Titles include 26x30mins The Freaky Traveller and 26x60mins It Only Happens in India.
Georgina Eyre, head of acquisitions, Off the Fence said: “We are continuing to supply programming to our traditional clients but are also exploring new business models and we are increasingly active in emerging markets.”
The distributor has been ramping up acquisitions activity in recent months and has secured content from content producers including Fox Lifestyle. Its catalogue now stretches to 6,500 hours.
In other UKTV news, the channel group’s entertainment channel Watch has acquired the US version of supernatural drama Being Human from Zodiak Rights.
