Blinkbox inks StudioCanal content deal
Streaming service Blinkbox has inked a deal with StudioCanal, giving it a range of the French distributor’s movie content.
The agreement stretches to 160 classic and contemporary movies and titles include Apocalypse Now, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Hurt Locker and Mulholland Drive.
The films can be accessed on connected TVs, Blu-Ray players, set top boxes as well as PCs and Macs.
Blinkbox is owned by UK supermarket chain Tesco. It allows customers to watch content on an a la carte, as opposed to subscription, basis.
Michael Comish, CEO Tesco Digital Entertainment, said: “This latest deal brings some of the most critically acclaimed films ever made to blinkbox for 2013. That’s great news for movie fans. We set the bar high with new content in 2012 but we’ll be looking to add even more great titles this year.”
