Discovery will televise Oprah’s Lance Armstrong interview
Discovery will simulcast Oprah Winfrey’s upcoming interview with Lance Armstrong on its networks around the world.
Oprah’s interview will be the first the disgraced cyclist has given since a damning report from US anti-doping agency USADA late last year.
It will be shown on an episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter, the talkshow star’s series on her own cable net OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.
That network is only distributed in North America, but is run as a joint venture between Oprah’s company, Harpo, and international factual channel operator Discovery.
The interview takes place next Thursday at 9pm Eastern Time and will be shown live on Discovery Channel in the UK and Discovery Channel and TLC in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
It will air the same night on Discovery Channel across Latin America and roll out in other international markets across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific from the next day.
Oprah has already said the interview will be streamed live on her website Oprah.com.
