Sky Vision hires first head of acquisitions

UK-based distributor Sky Vision has poached former BBC Worldwide commercial manager Angela Neillis and she will take the newly-created role of head of acquisitions.

At Worldwide, Neillis worked with numerous factual and drama-producing indies and her appointment comes as Sky Vision, the distribution arm of News Corp.-backed pay TV platform BSkyB, seeks to add scripted programming to its catalogue.

The company was created following Sky’s 2012 acquisition of Parthenon Entertainment, which was focussed on factual content.

Neillis will report to commercial director Connie Hodson. She said:“Angela’s appointment underlines our commitment to producers as we work towards making Sky Vision their first port of call for new, popular, distinct and relevant programming for a global audience.”

Neillis said: “I’m enormously excited to be joining the company at this time. It offers a great opportunity to collaborate both with producers who have worked with Sky and those who haven’t. Sky Vision will make a real difference to the global production community.”
