MTG launching new free-to-air channel in Czech Republic

Modern Times Group will launch Prima Zoom, its fourth free-to-air channel in the Czech Republic, at the beginning of February.

Prima Zoom will be focused on a male-skewing audience aged over 35, broadcasting daily from 08:00-02:00, and will air on the Czech digital-terrestrial network as well as the basic packages of satellite, cable and IPTV providers, giving it a household penetration of over 90% at launch.

It wil be complemented by a new web platform, Prima-zoom.cz, which will offer catch-up content.

Prima Zoom is designed to complement MTG’s existing Prima Family, Prima Cool and Prima Love offerings.

The channel will feature factual entertainment from the BBC and other international content providers, including documentary formats Ocean Giants, Shark Hunters, The Birth of Europe and Superstorm USA.

Programming will be organised in three-hour segments focusing on topics including Amazing Oceans, History Uncovered and Animal Kingdom.
