Martin Scorsese is making a feature doc about Bill Clinton. The film is being made for HBO and with the ex-US president’s full cooperation.
The Clinton doc marks the fourth time that Scorsese has worked with HBO, with the vaunted filmmaker having previously made docs Public Speaking and George Harrison: Living in the Material World as well as drama series Boardwalk Empire.
Steve Bing, a major benefactor to Democratic causes will produce the doc.
Bill Clinton said: “I am pleased that legendary director Martin Scorsese and HBO have agreed to do this film,” said President Clinton. “I look forward to sharing my perspective on my years as President, and my work in the years since, with HBO’s audience.”
Martin Scorsese said: “A towering figure who remains a major voice in world issues, President Clinton continues to shape the political dialogue both here and around the world. Through intimate conversations, I hope to provide greater insight into this transcendent figure.”
