ABC orders full season of Nashville

Country music drama Nashville is the latest US series to receive an order for a full season from ABC.

This follows full season orders of Dan Fogelman comedy The Neighbors and freshman drama series Scandal.

Nashville is produced and distributed by Lionsgate and is exec produced by The September Issue director RJ Cutler, Callie Khouri and Steve Buchanan.

It stars Connie Britton as Ryna Jaymes and Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes, sparring stars of the Nashville country music scene. It airs on ABC on Wednesday at 10pm.

The show’s pilot episode received 8.93 million viewers with its fifth episode recording just over 6 million before DVR playback. However, the series has an upscale female audience with 30% in homes with over $100,000 annual income.
