eOne closes raft of post-MIPCOM deals

International producer and distributor Entertainment One (eOne) has closed a raft of global programming deals post-MIPCOM.

The company has closed new deals for zombie series The Walking Dead, western Hell on Wheels and Goodnight for Justice, cop series Rookie Blue and Primeval: New World.

It has also struck a volume deal with nascent Scandinavian digital platform Netflix and its rival Viaplay.

The Walking Dead, which just launched its third season, has been acquired by Kadokawa in Japan, Denmark’s DR, TV4 in Sweden, Prima TV in Czech Republic, 4+ in Switzerland as well as Fox in Norway and Finland.

Jason Priestley-fronted Call Me Fitz has been sold to Sony in Africa, Fox Portugal and FX across Asia Pacific, while Primeval: New World, the North American spin-off of the hit British series has been picked up by French Canada’s Ztele and Canal Vie has bough reality series Sugastars.

Russian broadcaster has picked up recently cancelled horror comedy Todd and the Book of Pure Evil and Mr. D and Sony Turbo in Russia has bought The Dating Guy and Femme Fatales.

Meanwhile, French commercial broadcaster has bought two Luke Perry television movies Goodnight for Justice: Measure of a Man and Goodnight for Justice: Queen of Hearts as well as Horses of McBride and romantic comedy Tom, Dick & Harriet.

Separately, Netflix and Viaplay have bought online rights to The Walking Dead and Hell on Wheels. Viaplay has added Rookie Blue, while Netflix has added sci fi drama Haven.
