Sony Max acquires Passion’s Man V Food Nation
Pan African broadcaster Sony Max has acquired rebellious food format Man V. Food Nation after striking a deal with distributor Passion Distribution.
The sale comes ahead of DISCOP Africa at the end of October.
The Sony-owned network bought season one of the Adam Richman-fronted series as well as two accompanying specials.
This latest deals follows a number of sales across Africa for Passion, which has increased its business in the region by nearly 40% in the first six months of the year and follows volume deals with Wananchi Programming and a high profile deal with South Africa’s M-Net, which acquired World of Wonder’s Rupaul’s Drag Race.
Rebecca Thomas, sales manager, Passion Distribution said: “Africa is becoming a hugely viable market for Passion and one we are seeing a lot of growth in, hence our attendance at DISCOP. We are continually doing business with countries across the continent by focusing on the individual territories as well as the larger pan broadcasters, in order to continue this growth into 2013 and beyond.”
