Portugal’s TVI launches co-brand kids block with Nickelodeon

Portuguese broadcaster TVI will launch its first co-branded kids programming block after striking a volume deal with Viacom International Media Networks.

The deal will see TVI and Nickelodeon launch branded block Kid Kanal with series including the new animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as well as SpongeBob SquarePants.

TVI predominantly airs locally produced content and rarely acquires international kids programming. The new block will air on weekends for two hours starting in November.

Other series on the block will include Dora the Explorer, Fanboy & Chum Chum, Kung Fu Panda and Winx Club (pictured).

Caroline Beaton, SVP, international programme sales, VIMN said: “We are delighted to partner with TVI to bring our first Nickelodeon branded block to Portugal. The agreement marks our ongoing commitment to establishing the Nickelodeon brand as the destination for top quality animation for kids and families around the world, and as part of this we really look forward to making our content more available than ever to Nickelodeon fans across the region.”
