Cableready acquires rights to Lincoln Center
International distributor Cableready has acquired international rights to arts series Live From Lincoln Center.
The series will complement Cableready’s existing portfolio of arts programming including Inside The Actors Studio and the Tony Awards.
The company has acquired nine episodes of the series, which airs on PBS in the States and is a series of musical performances, concerts, ballets and operas. It is produced by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in association with Thirteen/WNET.
Cableready will start shopping the series to international broadcasters.
“Live From Lincoln Center has a lengthy reputation for bringing the highest level of performing arts programming to viewers in the U.S.,” said Cableready CEO Gary Lico. “We are honored to be able to bring this award-winning series to the entire world.”
“Lincoln Center is thrilled to bring its flagship television series Live From Lincoln Center broadly to international audiences for the first time in its 37-year history. Viewers will find world-class programming from the New York Philharmonic’s opening concert starring Itzhak Perlman and the Richard Tucker Opera Gala featuring an all-star line-up of opera greats to a concert performance by five-time Tony award winner Audra McDonald,” added Elizabeth Scott, chief media and digital officer, Lincoln Center.
