MTV ups Latin head of acquisitions
Viacom International Media Networks has promoted Marisol Amaya to senior director of programming acquisitions.
Amaya previously headed up buying activities for the MTV, VH1 and Comedy Central channels in Latin America and in her new role will also have oversight of US Hispanic channel Tr3s.
Based in Miami she will have a dual-report into Fernando Gaston, brand manager for Tr3s and MTV Latin America, as well as Federico Cuervo, brand manager of Comedy Central and VH1 Latin America.
Prior to joining Viacom, Marisol was acquisitions manager for HBO Latin America and before that worked as a buyer for Discovery Networks Latin America.
Gaston said: “We are very excited that Marisol will bring her programming expertise to our US Hispanic brand. Marisol has demonstrated strong success across our brands in Latin America and we are confident she will bring the same passion, commitment and clarity of vision to Tr3s,” said, Gaston.
