Argonon eyes digital acquisitions, looking to staff up
International producer and distributor Argonon is eyeing the acquisition of digital businesses and is looking to hire a number of senior executives to ramp up its digital division.
The company, which runs Cash In The Attic producer Leopard Films, has hired Kate Burns, former chief executive of AOL Europe, to consult on this digital strategy through her consultancy firm Accelerate.
Argonon is looking to acquire a digital company that has a proven track record in working with brands and developing digital content.
This comes after it announced the launch of a global digital hub for its Cash In The Attic brand and follows the appointment of former Endemol interactive entertainment exec Tom Blakeson as chief creative officer of Remedy Productions.
“Argonon only wants to work with world-class talent, the best in field, which is why we have chosen Kate Burns’ Accelerate to help us build our acceleration into digital. Digital and cross platform entertainment offer rich opportunities for innovation and disruptive rule-breaking and we are driving forwards with a sense of excitement and await lots of vigorous surprises ahead,” said Argonon chief executive James Burstall.
