Japan’s NHK and Natural History New Zealand creating new Life Force
Japanese public broadcaster NHK and Fox-owned Kiwi producer NHNZ are making a sequel to their successful documentary series Life Force.
Life Force II will be a copro between NHK, NHNZ France Télévisions, Science Channel and Animal Planet.
The original Life Force premiered early last year.
The second series will continue to look at follow the evolution of animals in extraordinary environments around the world.
The six-part series will be sold internationally by Off the Fence.
“This will be the fourth time the two organisations do a true coproduction in the sense that we both play a hands-on role in making the programmes,” said NHK executive producer of natural history programmes, Shin Murata.
He added: “The participation of our other partners from all continents will enable us to use even newer camera technologies to reveal more of the mysteries of life and evolution on a global scale.”
