Banijay Diving series lands in Sweden

Banijay’s Stars in Danger format has been sold into Sweden.

The show, which is the focus of a format dispute between Banijay and Eyeworks, which makes the Celebrity Splash series, will be made by Nordisk Sweden for an as yet unnamed broadcaster. It will TX in a primetime slot next year.

Banijay has also sold the format to TV2 in Norway.

Karoline Spodsberg, managing director, Banijay International, said: “I am thrilled to see Stars in Danger, the original celebrity high diving format, gain another licence deal.”

Both Banijay and Eyeworks have been concluding deals for their diving formats. Eyeworks has sold its show to US broadcast network ABC and French free-to-air channel TF1.

As first reported by TBI, Banijay is currently considering legal action against Eyeworks as the pair dispute whether elements of their respective formats are similar. Eyeworks vehemently denies its show borrows elements of Stars in Danger.
