Lagardere’s Genao revamping Alvin and The Chipmunks
Lagardere-owned production company Genao Productions is launching a new TV version of Alvin and The Chipmunks following the success of the feature film franchise.
Genao, which produces kids series Monk, Fish & Chips and Xiaolin Chronicles, has teamed with Bagdasarian Productions, the US production company that created and owns the rights to the property to produce a new 52x11mins series.
The companies are now in talks with broadcasters and hope to strike deals at MIPCOM for Alvin, Theodore, Simon and The Chipettes’ new adventures.
Genao Productions bosses Sandrine Nguyen and Boris Hertzog said: “We are delighted to announce the partnership with Bagdasarian Productions. The Chipmunks are the number one family property that has been beloved by three generations of fans! We are looking forward to producing a terrific series with Bagdasarian Productions.”
Ross Bagdasarian added: “Janice and I look forward to taking The Chipmunks and Chipettes on their latest television adventures.”
