CBC cleans up with Napkin Man
Canadian public broadcaster the CBC has ordered The Adventures Napkin Man, a new kids series from Breakthrough Entertainment and Little Airplane.
Breakthrough will handle international sales of the 26x11mins preschool series and launch it at MIPCOM. Little Airplane has US rights. The show is a mix of live-action and animation.
Fledgling Canadian studio Little Tugboat will handle the animation on The Adventures Napkin Man, which is an original idea created by Little Airplane’s Tone Thyne and Josh Selig.
It was subsequently developed with the CBC and the Canadian public broadcaster subsequently commissioned a full series.
The Adventures of Napkin Man tells the story of Mister Anthony, a preschool teacher who draws a superhero named Napkin Man for his students. Napkin Man comes to life in an animated world and helps young children better understand and manage their feelings.
