BBC sells kids shows ahead of MIPCOM
BBC Worldwide has concluded several deals for its new slate of kids shows ahead of MIPCOM.
Australian public broadcaster ABC has acquired Radoll productions’ animated series Abney & Teal for ABC4.
Starz Kids and Family in the US has bought teen comedies Wingin’ It and Sadie J.
Norwegian free-to-air broadcaster NRK has acquired animated and live-action hybrid Baby Jake. Other broadcasters including RTP2 in Portugal, RAI in Italy and TVB in Hong Kong have also picked up the Darrall Macqueen-produced series.
All abovementioned titles are part of Worldwide’s MIPCOM slate.
It will also bring a new show to market, Sara & Duck, which has yet to debut on CBeebies in the UK. Worldwide will also launch the second season of animated show Leonardo, about the young Leonardo Da Vinci, in Cannes.
