eOne strikes international Saving Hope deals
International producer and distributor Entertainment One (eOne) has closed a raft of global sales for its medical drama Saving Hope ahead of MIPCOM.
International broadcasters including Latin American pan regional network DirecTV, Brazil’s Globosat, Portugal’s Zon, Turkey’s D-Smart, Italy’s La7, Russia’s Domashny, Romania’s Euforia TV and the Sony SET channel across Africa have all acquired the one-hour drama series.
This comes as eOne is bringing the cast of the show including Erica Durance (Smallville), Michael Shanks (Stargate Atlantis) to MIPCOM.
The series is produced by Ilana C Frank Films and eOne for CTV. It follows a young doctor who must save her fiance after he falls into a coma as well as the lives of those around her.
“Saving Hope, is at its core, a love story with a complicated twist – and what is love if not complicated? This universal theme is obviously resonating with buyers around the world as we see broadcasters vying for the series,” commented Prentiss Fraser, SVP worldwide sales and acquisitions, eOne Television International.
