Endemol renews Babes on the Bus agreement
International formats firm Endemol will continue to sell Norwegian reality format Babes on the Bus after renewing its deal with Nordic World and Nice Group.
This comes after the format aired in Germany via Vox and is n post-production at TF1 in France.
The 40x42mins format, which is produced by Nice Group’s Monster Format, was originally produced for Norway’s TV Norge before being licensed in Denmark by Kanal 4. Endemol holds all international rights excluding the Nordic territories and France.
The show follows 25 single people who swap their city lives for rural life and a rural soul mate. Over ten weeks, the ‘babes’ travel the country looking for a suitable partner.
Nice Group CEO Morten Aass said: “From the moment Monster unveiled Babes on the Bus, we knew we had the makings of a global superformat. It’s dating, it’s non-studio and, because it can either be stripped daily or produced as a weekly, it’s also versatile. Endemol’s renewed commitment to the show and this latest licence deal with Kanal 4 prove that our instinct was correct. We are confident that Monster’s Babes have what it takes to entertain the world — and we are delighted that they will remain in the capable hands of Endemol on their global road trip.”
