Millions at Home to be remade in France, Italy

Spanish gameshow Millions at Home is being remade in France and Italy after independent producer Phileas Productions struck a number of format deals.

The format has been optioned by French producer Elephant Group, which produces Sept à Huit for TF1, Working Girls for Canal Plus and Usain Bolt: The Fastest Man Alive for France 2. The company is currently shopping the format to French broadcasters.

Thierry Bizot, co-founder of Elephant Group, said: “We’re very happy to work with Phileas on Millions at Home”. We strongly believe that this program, which combines an exciting studio-based show with a strong interaction with the viewers, is the next generation gameshow.”

Separately, an as yet unnamed Italian production company has also struck a deal for the format.

Millions at Home is an interactive gameshow that sees the audience at home given as much chance of winning the grand prize as the studio contestants.

Phileas Productions founder and managing director Sergio Sancho said: “We are very excited about these new international agreements. In the case of France, working with the Elephant Group is a guarantee of success. We are convinced that in their hands, Millions at Home will become a household name in France.”

Phileas will be launching two other gameshows at MIPCOM; Don’t Say It, Bring It and Sit Tight.

This follows the success of its format 20 Little Piggys, which was acquired by Endemol last year and has been picked up by broadcasters including Indonesia’s PT Indosiar Visual Mandiri.
