Endemol acquires Nordic World’s Ultimate Entertainer
International formats firm Endemol has acquired global rights for celebrity talent format Ultimate Entertainer from Nordic World and Nice Group.
This is the second deal between the two companies following last year’s agreement for Endemol to distribute dating format Babes on the Bus.
Endemol will distribute 11x1hour format Ultimate Entertainer across all territories excluding the Nordic territories.
The series originally aired on Norwegian public broadcaster NRK and produced by Nice Group’s Monster.
The format sees established musical artists compete for the title of Ultimate Entertainer and over 10 weeks, artists compete in 10 musical genres.
The deal was struck between Grant Ross, global head of format acquisitions for Endemol and Jan Salling, chief operating officer and director of sales at Nordic World.
Nice Group CEO Morten Aass said: “Ultimate Entertainer has got everything, from big stars to great music, from edge-of-seat tension to classic, sing-along entertainment. But more than that, it has that ‘magic moment’ you find in all great formats. It’s the sort of feel-good show that families can sit down to watch together — an increasingly rare commodity in today’s fractured entertainment market.”
