Dog the Bounty Hunter gets new reality series, Electus to distribute

Ben Silverman’s Electus is making a reality series Dog, starring Duane ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Chapman and his wife Beth.

The ten-part one-hour show will be on MTV’s sister channel CMT in the US and Electus will be selling it internationally.

In the series Dog and Beth will help other bounty hunters and bail bond agencies who are struggling with their businesses. Production will start early next year and the show will debut in CMT’s spring/summer schedule.

The Chapmans created their series trough their production company Entertainment By Bonnie and Clyde.

A&E confirmed in May that Dog the Bounty Hunter would be axed after eight seasons and over 200 episodes. The new series follows the next chapter in their lives, CMT said.

“This series is a game changer for CMT,” said Jayson Dinsmore, EVP, development and programming at CMT. “We were aggressive in our pursuit of a show featuring Dog and Beth, one of the most bankable teams in television history. We couldn’t be happier to partner with Electus and Dog and Beth as they move forward on the next chapter.”
