Ben Silverman teams up with Eminem
Ben Silverman is teaming up with rapper Eminem to launch a web series.
Silverman’s Electus has struck a deal with Shady Films, the production company run by the 8 Mile star and his manager Paul Rosenberg, to launch Detroit Rubber, a web series about a local sneaker store.
The series, which will focus on Rick Williams and Roland (Ro) Coit and their sneaker boutique Burn Rubber, and will launch on Electus’ pop culture-focused YouTube channel LOUD. Eminem will exec produce the series, but is not expected to appear in it.
The series will be produced in Detroit later this year and is expected to launch online next year.
This is the latest deal Electus has struck with high profile talent; it recently launched a reality series with The Rock for TNT, has worked with Elle Macpherson on NBC’s Fashion Star and is working on a sitcom with Jessica Simpson.
