Breakthrough launches home entertainment arm

International producer and distributor Breakthrough Entertainment is launching a home entertainment division to sell titles including Greatest Tank Battles.

The Canadian firm will also use the new company – breakthroughentertainment.com – as a direct-to-consumer distribution arm, offering primetime series and documentaries director to customers. The service will initially be available in Canada and will then be rolled out around the world.

As well as Greatest Tank Battles, other titles available at launch include doc series Battlefield Mysteries and scripted comedy series Less Than Kind.

“Breakthrough’s programming has developed a strong following here in Canada and we believe that the establishment of Breakthrough Home Entertainment is the optimum way to address the growing appetite among fans of our shows who want to own our titles,” says Nat Abraham, president of distribution.
