Logo acquires Shaftesbury doc Why Men Cheat
US cable network Logo has acquired Canadian documentary Why Men Cheat after striking a deal with distributor Shaftesbury.
The Viacom-owned gay and lesbian themed broadcaster will launch the show next year as part of its What!? series of documentaries.
Why Men Cheat is a one hour doc commissioned by Canadian public broadcaster and directed by The Disappearing Male director Marc de Guerre. It investigates the truth behind the murky motivations of powerful men who endanger marriages, reputations and careers for illicit moments.
Shaftesbury is launching the doc to international broadcasters at MIPCOM.
“Why Men Cheat is the perfect combination of insightful fact-finding and edgy storytelling in its examination of this contemporary social issue,” says Shane Kinnear, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Shaftesbury. “We’re delighted to have Logo on board as our US broadcast partner and look forward to offering the documentary to international buyers at MIPCOM.”
