Discovery orders Never Ever Do This At Home format

Discovery channel Canada has ordered a local version of Norwegian broadcaster NRK’s factual entertainment show Never Ever Do This At Home.

The format is sold internationally by DRG and was picked up in Canada by indie producer Insight, which then inked the deal with Discovery.

Insight, which makes shows including the Canadian version of the Got Talent format and Stars on Ice, will produce the format this autumn before it launches on Discovery early next year.

The show will be hosted by a couple of curious guys who test and challenge things around the home, drawing on science, while breaking with accepted health and safety regulations, the pair carry out zany household experiments.

Local versions of the show have already been transmitted on TV2 Zulu, Denmark, which has greenlit a second season and on German public broadcaster ZDF.
