The CW developing horror drama with Bret Easton Ellis
US network The CW is developing a teen horror series with Gossip Girl producer Fake Empire and American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis.
It marks Ellis’ first major television project; the author of Glamorama and Less Than Zero has been more widely known for his work in features and he has recently written the screenplay to The Canyons, starring Lindsay Lohan.
The youth skewing network has ordered a script for Copeland Prep, a one hour drama set a high school that is so competitive that it’s literally turning its students into monsters.
Fake Empire’s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are producing with Warner Bros, where they have an overall deal. It is being directed by Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke.
