Cartoonito buys Henson’s Doozer series
Cartoonito has bought the animated Doozers series from The Jim Henson Company. The Turner preschool channel will transmit the series across the EMEA region from next autumn.
Cartoonito is the first international channel to buy the 52x11mins CG series, which is a spin-off from iconic kids series Fraggle Rock. The show is a coproduction between Henson and Canada’s DHX Media.
“In a year which marks the 30th anniversary of Fraggle Rock, we’re delighted that spin-off series Doozers is set to make its debut on Cartoonito,” said Cecilia Persson, VP of acquisitions and coproductions for EMEA at Turner Broadcasting. “Originating from a much loved show with iconic brand heritage, Doozers is a wonderfully charming series in its own right and is sure to gain new legions of fans to this latest creation from The Jim Henson Company and DHX.”
The original Doozers were first introduced to television audiences through Fraggle Rock, which aired from 1983 to 1987 in the US on HBO.
