Breakthrough strikes raft of pre-MIPCOM deals

African broadcaster StarTimes has closed a volume deal with Canadian distributor Breakthrough Entertainment for a raft of documentaries, kids and reality series.

This comes as Breakthrough has also closed deals in Australia, Denmark, Turkey and Finland.

StarTimes has acquired 300 half hours of Breakthrough-distributed programming including Books Into Film, Criminal Mind, Dino Dan, Droogles, Filmography, Hollywood’s Greatest Mysteries, Mooh Brothers, My Big Big Friend, Robot Zoo and Sacred Balance.

Separately, Australian pay TV network Foxtel has picked up Clash of Cultures China and the West, Turkey’s TRT has bought Re-Inventors, Israel’s Hop TV has acquired Dino Dan and My Big Big Friend, Finland’s YLE has bought doc series My Really Cool Legs! and German broadcaster Red Bull Media has taken The Future Revealed.
