Nickelodeon announces new slate with iCarly and Monsters vs Aliens spinoffs

US kids broadcaster Nickelodeon has announced its new programming slate with a raft of new live action and animated series including an iCarly spinoff and a television remake of Dreamworks movie Monsters vs Aliens.

The Viacom-owned broadcaster has announced two pilots from iCarly creator Dan Schneider including Gibby, which sees Noah Munck reprise his iCarly role as a kid who takes a job at a rec centre, and babysitting comedy Sam & Cat.

Other pilots include superhero comedy The Thundermans from Big Time Rush producer Jed Spingarn and supernatural comedy The Haunted Hathaways from Reba’s Robert Peacock. It has also ordered hidden footage series You Gotta See and original TV movies Swindle and Nicky Deuce.

In animation, the channel has ordered an extension of blockbuster movie Monsters vs Aliens, preschool series Monty and Norville from Blue’s Clues’ Adam Peltzman and snake comedy Sanjay & Craig. It is also piloting Bad Seeds from SpongeBob SquarePants writer Carl Greenblatt and Blaze and the Monster Machines from Little Einsteins‘ Jeff Borkin.

Separately, the company has also commissioned two projects for its Nick at Nite block from Terra Nova exec producer Aaron Kaplan including Wendell and Vinnie starring iCarly’s Jerry Trainor and pilot Instant Mom.
