Paul Jackson making documentary series for China’s CCTV

Paul Jackson plans to make a documentary series for China’s state broadcaster CCTV.

The ex-ITV director of entertainment and Granada America boss told TBI that he will executive produce the 7x30mins series, which is provisionally titled What You Didn’t Know about the West.

The show, which Jackson categorised as ‘popular factual’, will be produced by the content arm of Westminster University.

The academic institution, through its China Media Centre, has forged deep relationships with broadcasters from the country and hosted delegations and fact-finding trips from the country’s main broadcasters and media companies, including CCTV.

Jackson, who is at Eyeworks UK, has worked with the China Media Centre and earlier this month hosted the Focus on China panel session at the Children’s media Conference in Sheffield which featured participants from Chinese channels including CCTV.
