beActive launches new show via Pinterest
Digital production company beActive is launching new series Beat Girl, the first show to be launched via nascent social media site Pinterest.
The company, which is run by Nuno Bernado, is launching the interactive scripted drama online as a prequel to a full multiplatform series.
Beat Girl, which is based on Jasmina Kallay’s novel and follows the life of a 21 year old DJ, will be the first series to launch on the pinboard site, which launched in 2010. The show is aimed at women aged 18 to 35.
“Beat Girl the web series was designed to exploit the new features of this exciting new social network that is Pinterest. We wanted to bring back the popular Photonovels of the 60s to the new digital generation. The tools and functionalities introduced by Pinterest allowed us to release the content the way we envisioned. As a world’s first we expected that in the future more and more stories will be told on this network using photos and still images,” said Bernado
Content Media holds the international distribution rights to the series.
