Gossip Girl producer Alloy acquires web producer Clevver
Alloy Digital, the online arm of Gossip Girl producer Alloy Entertainment, has acquired digital production company Clevver Media and is eyeing further deals.
The purchase is Alloy Digital’s fourth web acquisition in the last twelve months following deals for Smosh, Generate and B5 Media. It also comes after the firm’s parent company, which also produces series including The Vampire Diaries, was acquired by Hollywood studio Warner Bros.
Clevver Media, which was launched in 2006, operates seven entertainment and celebrity focused YouTube channels and has over 8 million subscribers.
Alloy Digital’s CEO Matt Diamond said: “Through an aggressive acquisition strategy and organic growth, we continue to strengthen our connection with the 12-34 demographic with quality programming tailored to their pop culture cravings and distributed via their preferred media platforms.”
