Warner Bros acquires Gossip Girl producer Alloy
Warner Bros Television has acquired Gossip Girl producer Alloy Entertainment.
The Hollywood studio has bought the production company, which also produces The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars and forthcoming ABC drama 666 Park Avenue, from an investor group lead by ZelnickMedia.
The two companies have worked together on numerous shows over the past few years, all of which started as successful book franchises aimed at teenage girls and young women.
The company will continue to be run by Leslie Morgenstein, president of Alloy Entertainment.
“The Warner Bros. Television Group and Alloy have enjoyed consistent success together on a number of terrific projects over the last decade,” said Bruce Rosenblum, president, Warner Bros. Television Group. “By having them join us as part of our Television Group, we are giving Peter Roth and his team, as well as the other producers of content across our company, the exclusive ability to tap into Alloy Entertainment’s wellspring of proven literary creativity.”
