Fox picks up series ahead of LA Screenings
US network Fox has picked up three new comedies and two dramas ahead of next week’s LA Screenings.
The broadcaster has picked up It’s Messy, the comedy created and starring The Office’s Mindy Kaling, Ben & Kate (formerly known as Ben Fox Is My Manny) and The Goodwin Games from How I Met Your Mother creators Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and Chris Harris.
It has also picked up the Kevin Williamson-penned, Kevin Bacon-fronted serial killer drama The Following and medical drama Mob Doctor.
Separately, Fox has renewed Tim Kring’s Kiefer Sutherland-fronted drama Touch for a second season but has cancelled Alcatraz and The Finder.
This comes ahead of the annual upfronts event in New York next week and before international buyers head to Los Angeles for the May Screenings.
It’s Messy is produced by Universal Television and distributed by NBC Universal International Television Distribution; Ben & Kate is produced by 20th Century Television Fox and Chernin Entertainment and distributed by Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, which is also working on The Goodwin Games.
Mob Doctor is produced and distributed by Sony Pictures Television, while The Following is produced and distributed by Warner Bros.
