NBC launches dating format from Eva Longoria

US network NBC is launching a new dating reality show produced by Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria.

The broadcaster is launching Ready For Love later this year. The show is produced by Longoria’s production company UnbeliEVAble Entertainment as well as Renegade 83 and Universal Television.

The show, which was commissioned by Paul Telegdy, president, alternative and late night programming, NBC Entertainment, follows three successful guys as they try and find their perfect women. The women can submit their info through a Facebook application.

“The show’s innovative format that uses online profiles and proven matchmakers will provide a better chance for our suitors to realize connections that will last long beyond the season finale,” said Telegdy. “We are thrilled to have Eva leading the charge creatively.”

Ready for Love marks the latest high profile dating series to be developed by a major US network; Fox recently announced it was remaking British series Take Me Out and CBS is launching a US version of Israeli dating format 3 (known in Israel as Shalosh).
