MTV closes MIP deals

Viacom International Media Networks, the global division of US cable network MTV, has closed a raft of programme sales for series including Supah Ninjas and Flash Prank following MIPTV.

The company’s international distribution arm has sold Nickelodeon’s live action comic book-esque series Supah Ninjas to Televisa’s Canal 5 in Mexico and TV Hondurena in Honduras. The show, which was created Afro Samurai’s Eric Garcia and Leo Chu, follows three unsuspecting kids that are drafted into the secret world of crime fighting.

Finnish broadcaster Nelonen, meanwhile, has acquired comedy stunt series Flash Prank. The show, which was produced by UK indie producer Splash Media TV for MTV International, was inspired by flash mobs and sees a group of people delivering a large stunt to one unsuspecting person.

Flash Prank originally went out on MTV’s channels in the UK and across Europe, Australia and New Zealand, Asia and Latin America.
