Exclusive: Elle Macpherson’s Fashion Star goes global
Elle Macpherson-fronted series Fashion Star is being remade in Australia, Germany, France and Turkey after the international arm of producer Electus sold the format rights, TBI can reveal.
Separately, Electus International, run by John Pollak, has sold the finished tape of the series, which airs on US network NBC, into 75 territories.
Australia’s Network Ten is to remake the series down under, while Germany’s Tresor TV, France’s Shine and Sera Films in Turkey have all acquired the local format rights.
Separately, Ben Silverman’s company has sold the US version of the show to Australia (Network Ten), Canada (CTV), French Canada (Mlle, a specialty channel of TVA), Asia (Diva Universal), Korea (CJ E & M), Latin America (Fox International Channels Latin America) and Brazil (Globosat).
