Charlie Sheen’s Anger Management lands in Scandinavia
Upcoming Charlie Sheen comedy Anger Management has been sold across Scandinavia.
The series has been acquired by the Modern Times Group for broadcast on its Viasat free-to-air channels in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
The show, which is distributed by Lionsgate, has already been sold into Canada, Latin America and Germany.
The show marks Sheen’s return to TV after his well-publicised and acrimonious departure from Two and a Half Men. It is based on the 2003 Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson movie of the same name.
The TV show started shooting in March and will debut on US cable net FX at end-June.
Viasat already airs Two and a Half Men. The broadcaster’s senior VP of acquisitions & programming Jakob Mejlhede said: “With a global star of Sheen’s magnitude to drive the show, we’re confident that Anger Management will deliver to both viewers and advertisers alike.”
Lionsgate international TV executive Peter Iacono. “We expect this show to quickly become a signature of Viasat’s programming lineup and resonate with their audiences for years to come.”
