Shine brings new dramas to Cannes
Shine International is bringing 50 new hours of drama to MIPTV and has also closed a raft of deals for existing series including The Hour and The Listener.
The global sales arm of Elisabeth Murdoch’s company is bringing two new series to Cannes; Hunted, which was commissioned by the BBC and US cable network Cinemax, which is written by Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files), and Nordic noir series Real Humans, which was commissioned by Sweden’s SVT.
It is also launching the second season of Abi Morgan’s The Hour.
Shine has also closed five new deals for period drama The Hour; MBC (Middle East and Africa), Orange Cinema Series (France), TV Norge (Norway) and MNET (Africa) have all picked up the series.
CTV drama The Listener has also been sold to a host of new networks including TV Norge (Norway), MTV (Finland) and separately SBS in The Netherlands, Denmark and Belgium.
