Optomen closes Ramsay deals ahead of MIP
A raft of international broadcasters are remaking Gordon Ramsey’s cooking format Kitchen Nightmare after striking deals with Optomen International.
These deals come ahead of MIPTV.
Spain’s La Sexta, Poland’s TVN, Ukraine’s 1+1, Finland’s Nelonen and the Czech Republic’s TV Prima are the latest broadcasters to sign up to produce local versions of the UK format.
The format sees the Michelin-starred chef rescue restaurants in crisis.
All3Media-owned Optomen International has, separately, sold US series Hotel Hell to a number of European networks. France’s W9, Sweden’s Kanal Fern, Belgium’s TVM and Poland’s TVN have all acquired the Ramsay-fronted series.
Ramsay said: “These are stories that everyone can relate to, because virtually all of us have had a bad hotel experience that’s turned a holiday or business trip into a total disaster. It’s time to put the hospitality industry to the test.”
