Endemol adopts Plan B for MIPTV
Endemol has taken international rights to dance music format Plan B and will launch it at MIPTV.
The format originated in Spain, where it is known as The Anthill, and has spawned numerous hit dance music hits.
The format connects people through TV and social media and they make music together online, which is immediately available to buy as a download.
The viewers and users add elements to a baseline or segment of music that is provided by a well-known DJ. The DJ selects the best work and remasters it, creating a new track that is then sold for download.
Endemol USA will develop the show for the international market with Spanish producer 7YYaccion and offer it to international buyers for the first time at MIPTV.
“Plan B is the first real multiplatform and cross media music show,” says 7yaccion’s Director and Executive Producer Jorge Salvador. “We are not just looking for singers but also to create original music from all around the world though the Internet. Their ability to create worldwide entertainment hits and their commercial strength make them the best partner for Plan B.”
