The US networks are deep into development season and have spent the past few weeks frantically ordering pilots ahead of this year’s Upfronts and LA Screenings. TBI takes a look at some of the most interesting projects that are up for consideration.

Could this be anymore like Friends?

Matthew Perry is set to star in a new sitcom produced by Friends executive producer Scott Silveri.

Perry, who was last seen on network television in Sony Pictures Television’s Mr. Sunshine, will play an irreverant but charming sportscaster who tries to move on from a disturbing loss with the help of a support group. The show also stars Julie White (Transformers) and Suzy Nakamura (Men of a Certain Age).

The show will be produced by Universal Television; the pilot was written by Silveri, who will exec produce with Perry and Free Agents producer Karey Burke. Todd Holland (Malcom in the Middle) will direct.

Chances: Slightly more broad than NBC’s current crop of hipster comedies, Go On could play well to the masses if it makes it past the first few episodes.
