Zodiak expands third party sales with new series
International distributor Zodiak Rights has expanded the amount of third party programmes it sells and has inked deals to represent Desperate Scousewives and a new reality series from the producers of Jersey Shore.
The international arm of Zodiak Media will distribute Repo Games from 495 Productions. The show, which combines car repossession footage with a gameshow element, airs on US cable network Spike TV. Zodiak Rights will sell the first two seasons, a total of 40 episodes, as well as the format rights.
Separately, it has struck a deal with British independent producer Splash Media for 8x1hour Desperate Scousewives. The show, which airs on UK diginet E4, follows a group of wannabe footballers’ wives from Liverpool.
It will also sell 3x1hour documentary series Sandhurst; the show, which is produced by Icon Films for BBC Four, looks at a group of young military cadets.
“We are delighted to expand our third party strategy with three very different shows,” says Jane Millichip, managing director, Zodiak Rights.
