After more than 35 years of operation, TBI is closing its doors and our website will no longer be updated daily. Thank you for all of your support.
#16: 1600 Penn (NBC)
The US networks are deep into development season and have spent the past few weeks frantically ordering pilots ahead of this year’s Upfronts and LA Screenings. TBI takes a look at some of the most interesting projects that are up for consideration.
#16: 1600 Penn (NBC)
Bill Pullman is back to play the President of the United States of America. Pullman last played the leader of the free world in 1996 disaster movie Independence Day.
However, in 1600 Penn, Pullman will be playing it more for laughs. The political comedy will see Pullman play ex-marine Dale Gilchrist as the President and leader of the quirky first family. It also stars 21’s Josh Gad and Harry’s Law‘s Brittany Snow.
The series, which is more Dave than The West Wing, was co-created by former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett and Gad and the pilot is directed by Modern Family‘s Jason Winer. It will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television for NBC.
Chances: Flat; received a late order from the network but could come back hot depending on the strength of the pilot.
