Israeli cop drama being remade in Poland, Turkey after HBO deal
Broadcasters in Poland and Turkey are to remake Armoza’s Israeli police drama The Naked Truth, TBI can reveal.
The agreement follow a deal for a US version of the show for HBO.
HBO Poland has struck a deal with Armoza to remake the scripted format and the Israeli distributor has also inked a deal in Turkey.
US premium cable network HBO is remaking the series with Dexter showrunner Clyde Phillips and Mad Men-producer Lionsgate.
The Naked Truth originally aired on Israel’s Channel 10 and was created by Uri and Benny Barbash. It follows a team of police officers who are investigating the disappearance of a teenage girl from a powerful family.
This deal is the latest scripted format deal for Armoza, which also recently sold Israeli musical drama Danny Hollywood to youth skewing broadcaster The CW, which is producing it – titled Joey Dakota – as a pilot.
