#12: Revolution (NBC)
The US networks are deep into development season and have spent the past few weeks frantically ordering pilots ahead of this year’s Upfronts and LA Screenings. TBI takes a look at some of the most interesting projects that are up for consideration.
#12: Revolution (NBC)
J.J Abrams remains one of the hottest producers in Hollywood and although none of his subsequent shows (Undercovers, Alcatraz) have managed to live up to the post-Lost hype, he continues to be the doyen of development season.
This year he is back with a sci-fi series called Revolution; the high concept series follows a group of people struggling to survive in a world without energy. He has replaced smoke monsters with energy zappers and Castaway with S.M. Sterling’s post apocalyptic novel Dies the Fire.
The show, which will be produced by Abrams’ Bad Robot production company and Warner Bros Television. The pilot was written by Supernatural’s Eric Kripke and will be executive produced by Lost’s Bryan Burk.
Most noteworthy, however, is that fact that the pilot will be directed by Jon Favreau, the star of Swingers and director of Iron Man.
Chances: High; NBC will be betting big on J.J.
